With the different algorithms used by every social media platform, there can be several answers. But today, I would like to tackle one: adjust your posting schedule.
There are general “golden hours” for posting in the various social media sites. Facebook: Around 8am, Noon, 5pm and 9pm have always worked well for me. LinkedIn? Around 9am, Lunchtime, 3pm, and Sunday evenings. Twitter? Anything goes!
Of course, these are general rules of thumb. Optimum posting times may vary for your specific industry. Occasionally, I’ll throw up a post at 1am, and it works great!
But I would like to take it one step further…try posting “on the fives.” When people go into an appointment, meeting or event, the last thing they do is check their social media on their smartphone. Likewise, when they leave that meeting, the first thing they do is check their phone. The same goes for church goers, sporting events, etc. You get the point.
So, why not post when they’re looking? 11:55am, 1:05pm, 8:55pm, etc. Try it…it may work well for you!
And don’t forget, you can use Facebook’s scheduling system to post. It’ll make your life easier!
